Reviewed bookkeeping
Reviewed bookkeeping adds a documented quality-control step before records and reports are delivered.
How it works in the books
The reviewer checks reconciliations, unusual balances, missing evidence, period cutoff, material classifications, and unresolved exceptions. This is an internal bookkeeping review, not a CPA financial-statement review engagement.
Example
A reviewer rejects a month-end package because the credit card statement is missing even though the bank account reconciles.
What can go wrong
The word reviewed should not imply assurance, audit, or CPA attestation unless those services were actually performed.
